I’m an Australia Reads Ambassador and I’ll be hosting the special Stories That Matter for Kids Show. More details below…
Kids going crazy in lock-down? Give yourselves a break and hand over to Australia’s best storytellers for young people for Australian Reading Hour on Tuesday 14 September.
Sydney Opera House and Australia Reads, in collaboration with HelloTV! present STORIES THAT MATTER FOR KIDS – a free virtual event for schools to celebrate Australian Reading Hour 2021.
Hosted by Oliver Phommavanh with hilarious cameos by favourite kids book creators including Mem Fox, this virtual event (aprox 30 minute) is tailored for primary school students and features entertaining mini-classes on how to draw with Andrew Joyner, how to tell your family history with Michael Wagner, how to read the stars in Australia’s night skies with Professor Lisa Harvey-Smith, plus running commentary by Adrian Beck and Nicole Hayes – all of which celebrates the power of storytelling.
With continuing lockdowns this FREE event is available for ALL schools, libraries and individuals to screen on demand from Monday 13 to Friday 17 September – a perfect end to term three.
